 Langan Park |
City Parks he city of
Mobile has many wonderful parks for family recreation and entertainment. The
largest being Municipal (Langan) Park. This park has 4 ball fields of which two
are lighted, an 18 hole golf course and club house, The Fine Arts Museum of the
South, one Tennis center with offices and rest rooms with 17 lighted courts and
17 unlighted. There is a large Performing Arts pavilion for concerts and
special programs. One 9 hole frisbee golf course. There is a paddle boat
concession, 11 covered picnic shelters that can be reserved, and two rest room
buildings. There is a jet air-plane and an old steam engine located on the
park. There are fishing lakes, hiking paths and bicycle trails. The Mobile
Botanical gardens is located here also. The City of Mobile Parks Department has
a district office located on the park and a large storage building and
greenhouse. |

Center When you arrive in Mobile, make your first stop the Welcome
Center and Ft. Conde Museum to plan your stay. Ft. Conde, a replica of the
original 18th century French fort, is located downtown. Costumed guides lead
tours, fire muskets and cannons, and take you back to the early days of Mobile.
The Visitor Center has interactive video highlights of attractions and events,
movie overview of the City, historic murals, and a gift shop with Mobile logo
merchandise to make your trip forever memorable. |

home. Spared plundering by Union soldiers, Oakleigh became a center of social
